The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Three diagonally placed cartouches, each containing a square with an S-shape spiral; two small triangles. These designs are embroidered in blue darning stitch worked over one thread. There is evidence for pulled work, but the yellow wrapping stitches worked in horizontal rows have virtually all disappeared. Dark blue double running embroidery has also mostly disintegrated; its design can only be made out from the remaining prick marks.
