The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A continuous overall pattern of linked, interlocking diamonds with alternately a small rosette or a swastika in the centre.

Some of the embroidery has deteriorated, which makes the design appear to be arranged in bands, although it was originally a continuous pattern field. At the short end of the fragment is an open seam. The textile is very fine and of outstanding quality.
