The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band contains a continuous vine with single leaves. Next to it is a wider continuous vine, of which every second loop has a large heart-shaped leaf attached, containing a small trefoil. At the end of the band are the remains of an embroidered pendant.

The embroidery follows the neck outline of a garment, with the pendant at the base of the opening, as is commonly found in garments. The embroidery defines the outline of the design.
