    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A single band of crescents is set between two bands of checker design, both embroidered in running stitch, framed by narrow bands of herringbone embroidery; there is an additional checker band framed by single lines of herringbone stitch.

    Two now undecorated bands apparently formerly had crescent shapes embroidered, as the prick marks remain.
