The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band with a diagonal cartouche and a square containing an eight-pointed star framed by two triangles. The star has a circle with a four-armed spiral in it. The design is outlined with blue embroidery in double running stitch, and filled with white embroidery, using satin stitch or pulled work with wrapping stitch worked in horizontal and diagonal rows.

A rolled, whipped hem is sewn along one side. The width of the band is 3 cm.
