    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    An octagon has an eight-petalled rosette at the centre which is framed by a continuous vine with flower heads.

    The slanted counted filling stitches are worked in diagonal rows. There are fragmentary remains of a brown outline, possibly embroidered in stem stitch.

    The radiocarbon analysis provided a date of 1237 AD +/- 36
