    The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

    A wide band of very fine interlacing, made up from pink bands forming quatrefoils and trefoils, with the background covered with a stipple effect, created by dark blue embroidery, of a single couched thread.

    A small fragment of plain tabby linen is sewn on with a flat seam. The band is hemmed at one narrow end. The silk core of metal threads (silver) remain, with evidence of couching.
