The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band with large Z-shapes alternates with squares containing a four-armed spiral; the band has a simple geometric border. Parallel to it is a very narrow row of two simple geometric shapes, possibly imitating script. All outlines are embroidered in dark blue double running stitch, while the space between the Z-shapes and squares have brown darning stitches worked over and under one thread.

The band is 1.8 cm wide, the distance to the narrow row is 3 cm.
