    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian backed with transparent glass of the same colour; bezel, unbevelled; oval. Four lines places inside elongated compartments with single-lobed or trilobed lateral sides. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
    (2) Say: "He is God, One, God قل هو الله احد الله
    (3) the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, and has not been begotten, الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد
    (4) and no one is equal to Him." ' (Qur. CXII) ولم يكن له كفوا احد

    There are some schematic floral motifs spread over the ground. One line follows the shape of the gem.
