    The Barlow Collection

This cup shape, with a relatively high foot, is similarly also found in blue-and-white porcelain of the ‘Transitional’ period at the end of the Ming (1368–1644) and beginning of the Qing dynasty (1644-1911).

The deep U-shaped cup rests on a tall, somewhat splayed foot. The piece bears a cream-coloured opaque glaze with overall fine-meshed crackle, stained in places. The exposed body has discoloured to a buff tone.
