The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A narrow band with a single line of stepped diamonds linked by small crosses, embroidered in brown. The band has a line of blue embroidery as a border, probably stitched in herringbone.

The band is 1.3 cm wide. At right angles to it is a seam which links the two sides into a tubular shape. The fragment may have been part of a money pouch.
