The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

The star-shape of EA1984.445.a is repeated, but is very fragmentary. The designs are outlined in yellow satin stitch and blue double running stitch. The background is with S-shapes in lozenges and small squares containing a spiral. One of the star's points has a small triangle embroidered in fine, blue darning stitch.

There is a fine hem along one side of the fragment.

The related fragment of EA1984.445.c has been radiocarbon dated to 1395 +/- 40.
