    The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

    Rounded oblong; slightly lenticular; decorated with extremely minute and accurate mosaic work in iroye inlay, comprising on the front two large and six small squares of chequerwork (ishimatsu), and on the back of the same with one of the squares replaced by a disk of concentric bands; persimmon-wood plug in kōgai-hole.
