    Yellow chalcedony graduating to jasper at one end; bezel, unbevelled; rectangular with cut angles; back angle cut. Two lines of cursive script (nasta`līq) underlined by the return loops of the final yā` of both lines; with dots.

    (1) Slave of the Eternal بنده ازلى
    (2) His servant `Alī عبده على

    There are two superposed scrolls, with very schematic floral endnigs, spread over the ground. Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
