    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front (but only very slightly); rectangular. Two horizontal registers separated by a straight line formed by elongation of a ligature in the expression bi-smi. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say: "He is God, One, God بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قل هو الله احد الله
    (2) the Everlasting Refuge, who has not begotten, and has not been begotten, and no one is equal to Him" '. (Qur. CXII) الصمد لم يلد ولم يولد ولم يكن له كفوا احد

    Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
