    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Yellowish chalcedony; bezel, bevelled towards the front; oval. Four lines separated by straight lines formed by elongations of a ligature or return of a final loop. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say: "I take refuge بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قل اعوذ
    (2) with the Lord of the Daybreak from the evil of what He has created, برب الفلق من شر ما خلق و
    (3) from the evil darkness when it gathers, from the evil of the women who blow on من شر غاسق اذا وقب ومن شر النفاثات في
    (4) knots, from the evil of envier when he envies." ' (Qur. CXII) العقد ومن شر حاسد اذا حسد

    There are groups of dots spread over the ground. Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
