The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

Octagonal; edge heavily hammered up; in soft relief are part of the trunks of two pine-trees and one branch, with slight touches of gold incrustation; driving rain expressed by raised lines of varying height and sharpness. Signed: Kazuo [Japanese text] kizamu [Japanese text] and dated mid-spring of a kanoye-tora year-probably 1890, February. (Unrecorded, but perhaps a pupil or imitator of Natsuo.)
