The A. H. Church Collection of Japanese Sword-Guards (Tsuba)

Lenticular, with "wire" edge; on each face a gourd-vine delicately modelled in low, partly sunk relief, against an interrupted lattice rendered by fine sawcuts; the small fruits ("double gourds") are encrusted with gold or silver, which metals also provide a number of dewdrops.

Sir Arthur Church reads the name as Katsunari.
