Narrow, red bands with irregular white circles create a grid of rectangles; these are filled with small, red and white squares and rosettes on a blue ground or, in one example, with a large medallion. Two small rectangles are filled with intricate and very fine red tendrils, set on a white ground. On three sides of the fragment is a narrow border with a running s-scroll, with red outlines on white. The outlines are angular, as though imitating ikat design.

In two places there is stitching. The fabric is very fine and closely woven, and surface and reverse cannot be distinguished.
