The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A band of quatrefoils with diamond centres; one half the width of the design is repeated along both borders. The very fine embroidery is almost entirely in stepped double running stitch.

The width of the band is 4 cm. There is a finely rolled, whipped hem along three sides, suggesting that the fabric was part of a sash.
