The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

Three bands of blue diamonds, each containing a small cross in brown outline, and separated by a brown circle and two half-diamonds.

The outlines are embroidered in double running stitch, the blue diamonds are embroidered in slanted counted filling stitch worked on the diagonal. The bands are 2 cm wide and placed 4.5 cm apart. They are set at right angles to a selvedge and the remains of a hem. There also are some mending stitches.
