The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A cap entirely covered with embroidery; the circular band has triangles and stars embroidered with close counted herringbone and satin stitch. The crown of the cap has small square diamonds filled with buttonhole circles.

The cap's silk outer fabric is barely visible, as the embroidery is very close. The linen lining is sewn with a run-and-fell seam.
