One of the great Indo-Islamic monuments of Delhi, the Qutub Minar is a towering minaret, 72.5 metres high. It was commenced in 1193 by Qutb-ud-din Aibak, the first Muslim Sultan to rule at Delhi, and completed by Firuz Shah Tughluq (1351-88).
