Tsuba with dragons and shippō diaper of interlaced circles

  • Literature notes

    Regular shippō diaper (interlacing circles), with no undercutting, interrupted by two symmetrical ascending dragons fret-cut with intaglio modelling (rare technique), as is also the pearl the guard; oval seppadai engraved with an ogival compartment of cloud forms; kōgai-hole with special ogival border, kozuka-hole of similar shape, but cut later.
