Tsuba with flowers and Japanese characters

  • Literature notes

    Thin, pierced in negative silhouette with three similar devices (flower-buds?) and apparently two characters reading, sangwatsu, "third month", with reference to the flowers of that month; roped iron rim. 16th century (the rim later).
