Indian Block-Printed Textiles in Egypt: The Newberry Collection in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

A continuous field of large, red tendrils with leaves, circles, and flowers, all including some white dots and set on a light blue ground. Along the selvedge the field has a narrow, red border with white rosettes, while at right angles there is a brown, white, and blue border of linked diamonds. Along this band are three tabs, each filled with a cartouche and a stylized plant, with brown outlines on a light blue ground and against a red background.

Selvedge. The tabs have no hems, but the fabric has been cut between them. The reverse shows less dye saturation for red and brown, but more for blue.
