Lo Ch'ing was born in Qingdao, Shandong province, but grew up in Taiwan where he is now Professor of English at Taiwan Normal University. At the age of thirteen he became a pupil of the Qing imperial prince Pu Hsin-yu, renowned for his traditional style. Lo Ch'ing later followed the Zen Buddhist monk painter Ju-yu and is now well-known as a poet and as a calligrapher and painter. -
