    Chinese Paintings in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford

    Zeng Shanqing is from Beijing, and graduated from the Central Art Academy there in 1950, and from the Academy's Research Department in 1951, having studied under Xu Beihong. He was trained in Western techniques, which at that time were based on Soviet practice. Since 1986 he has lived in the United States. The title does not appear, but was used by the artist.
