Calligraphy about a warrior's sacrifices in war

    Zhao Shao'ang is one of the second generation of Lingnan School artists. This couplet of two five-character lines is executed in his distinctive angular style.
  • Description

    Zhao Shao’ang was one of the most prominent pupils of the Lingnan School and therefore his work is representative of the style. This couplet is executed in his distinctive angular style. The inscription reads ‘The beauty has been forgotten in years, soldiers sacrificed in dust.’
