    Catalogue of Islamic Seals and Talismans

    Cornelian; bezel, bevelled towards the front; oval. Three lines separated by straight lines formed by elongations of a ligature or return of a final loop. Cursive script; engraved.

    (1) 'In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate. Say: "Oh unbelievers, I serve not بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم قل يايها الكافرون لا اعبد
    (2) what you serve and you are not serving what I serve, nor am I serving what you have ser- ما تعبدون ولا انتم عابدون ما اعبد ولا انا عابد ما عبد
    (3) ved, neither are you serving what I serve. To you your religion, and to me my religion!" ' (Qur. CIX) تم ولا انتم عابدون ما اعبد لكم دينكم ولى دين

    There are some small isolated dots spread over the ground. Two lines follow the shape of the gem.
