The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A sequence of three bands placed close together, the central one with geometric lines, possibly inspired by inscription, and the two outer ones with diamonds and S-shapes. The central band is repeated at the hem of the fragment; three thin bands of linked diamonds connect the three bands with the border at the hem; one of these also has S-shapes.

The large fragment clearly was part of a tunic. There is a wide hem sewn along one edge.
