Bowl with blue and purple glazes

Literature notes
Jun wares of this type are not known with overall purple glazes and the piece must have been refired in modern times, with copper added to the original light blue glaze of a typical Jun ware bowl, such as [LI1301.355] in the Barlow Collection.
Heavily potted, the rounded bowl has a slightly inturned rim and a low, narrow, thick foot. The inside and outside are fully covered with an intense deep purple-coloured glaze, with three faint streaks of blue running down the inside and further bluish markings overall. The base bears a green glaze and the foot was partly left free of glaze and has fired a yellowish-brown. -
