  • Literature notes

The vase has an ovoid body, divided into eight lobes by vertical indents which end at a horizontal line above the base. The base is recessed and has a broad uneven footring. The tall wide neck shows two pairs of horizontal grooves and flares into a wide mouth with down-turned rim, which has been raised in six places, corresponding to six radiating lines of white slip inside the neck, applied under the glaze. The buff pottery body is covered with a fine, smooth deep yellowish-green glaze, which leaves only the base free.
