Both cup and stand are of ten-lobed form. The rounded cup has a narrow curved foot; the stand is in the form of a dish with everted rim and tall trumpet-shaped foot, which continues into a central raised pedestal with a circular rim. The centre of the cup is incised with a flower-head, the inner sides with small flower sprays with a double lobed line outlining the rim. The design is echoed on the outside by flower sprays inlaid in white and black slip with incised scroll borders above and below. The centre of the stand is similarly incised with a flower-head, with deeply carved petals around the pedestal, surrounded by incised fish among stylized waves on the dish-shaped part. The rim is inlaid with flower sprays in white and black slip and the foot incised with foliate sprays. A translucent, dark olive-green glaze fully covers both pieces, pooling to a thick glassy layer inside the cup. Both pieces were standing in the kiln on three firing supports which have left rough patches with remains of a white substance on the base of the cup and similarly inside the foot of the stand.
