Greenware bowl with flowers and waves

  • loan
  • Literature notes

This design was particularly popular at the Yaozhou manufactories and many bowls of this type have survived.

The rounded bowl has a grooved everted rim and a short straight foot with convex base. The inside is carved with a small flower spray surrounded by combed waves, the uppermost part of the sides, rim and outside are undecorated. The olive-green glaze leaves base and footring free, the biscuit is brown.
