White ware dish with a goose and lotus flowers

  • loan
  • Literature notes

The dish has curved sides, a domed centre and a nearly flat base with faintly indicated footring. The inside is moulded in relief with a wild goose in flight surrounded by lotus flowers, the sides with two rows of ruyi motifs and a key-fret border, the outside is plain. The slightly blue-tinged glaze is somewhat degraded, and leaves only the rim free which has fired a yellowish tone and shows traces of a silver rim mount.
