Greenware jar with loop handles

Literature notes
The very low shape, non-functional handles, heavy potting and unusual glaze suggest that the piece is a modern reproduction. The piece may be inspired by small handled jars of the Yuan dynasty (1279–1368), as they are known from the Longquan kilns of Zhejiang province.
The piece is very heavily potted, of depressed form, the sloping shoulder with a short rounded rim and two narrow loop handles, the lower part tapering towards a small concave base. The thick, light green glaze is of opaque milky tone and fills the openings of the handles, but leaves the base exposed in the beige-coloured biscuit, which shows a firing crack. -
