The Newberry Collection of Islamic Embroideries

A narrow band is divided into small rectangles, each with a single white rosette with six petals, some of these with remains of a pink centre. The rosettes are set into a blue circle against a brown background. White flax stem stitch provides the frames of the compartments.

The fragment has been radiocarbon dated to 1212 +/- 50.
